Detention prolonged for Khodorkovsky
Until 2 November if Investigative Committee’s request is met
On Friday the Chita Region Court will start examining a request from the Investigative Committee of the Prosecutor General's office for an extension of Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s detention in custody in the Chita jail until 2 November.
Interfax-Siberia was given these details by Simeon Rozenberg, Khodorkovsky’s lawyer. A second defence attorney Igor Sapozhkov said that on Monday the Chita Region Court was intending to consider a similar request from the investigators about Platon Lebedev. Next week will also, possibly, see the return of the Ingodinsky district court in Chita to yet another examination of the complaint submitted by Lebedev concerning falsification of the criminal case.
“The complaint was sent by the Chita Region Court for re-examination by the Ingodinsky court. This is the fourth time it is under judicial review,” noted Sapozhkov.
