Chita court will only examine Khodorkovsky’s complaint in 3 weeks time

Today, as it examined for a second time the complaint by Khodorkovsky’s defence lawyers against the actions and inaction of the investigators, the Ingodinsky district court decided to adjourn the hearing until 29 July. On 14 March 2008 the same court considered the complaint and decided not to uphold it. However, on 18 June the judicial collegium of the Chita Region Court concluded that not enough attention had been paid to the arguments of the defence and so it returned the complaint for re-examination in the court of first instance.

The hearing began yesterday . The defence drew the attention of the court to the several additions of material from other criminal cases to the case documentation of Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s second case. His lawyers demanded that the electronic records of Yukos be added to the evidence. The financial accounts held there, the lawyers are convinced, will put an end to all the accusations brought against Mikhail Khodorkovsky.
